Classic Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 can (400g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons tahini
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of cumin
  • Water as needed

Steps

  1. Add chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic to a food processor
  2. Blend until smooth, scraping down sides as needed
  3. Drizzle in olive oil while blending
  4. Add water a tablespoon at a time until you reach desired consistency
  5. Season with salt and cumin
  6. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of paprika

Notes

The secret to ultra-smooth hummus is blending longer than you think you need to. A full 3-4 minutes in the food processor makes a real difference. Some people remove the chickpea skins for extra smoothness — worth trying once.
